It is often said that one of the greatest challenges in life is to tell others who you are, but here goes!
Raised the second oldest son of ten children, I realized that to accomplish anything in life a great deal of wisdom and finesse are necessary. I also learned that to accomplish a goal, you have to be prepared for anything.
Understanding this has brought me to a place where there is no challenge great or small that cannot be overcome.
My father once told me if you want to learn, keep your mouth closed and your eyes and ears open. I've done that for some 40 plus years of my life and now it's time to share what I have learned. Life has been a treasure and a trial. I lost my first wife and oldest brother, but I also have a son who works with me in business and a daughter that is successful in her own right. I have also started three successful businesses. What I teach is what I am: a businessman, Pure and Simple.
I welcome the opportunity to come along side you and take your business to the next level. Please contact me with questions or for more information about Nittany Valley Business Consultants.
WORK EXPERIENCE
At the age of 14 I received my first taste of business,
working on a construction site as a summer job. From 1964 to 1966, I worked at a sawmill
business and on my family’s farm.
Right out of high school I went to work for a
construction company in Williamsport,
Pennsylvania. I began as
a laborer and eventually worked my way up to serve as a heavy equipment operator.
From there, I went on to work for the Heavy Highway Construction Division as
a foreman, specializing in bridge structures from 1970 to 1982.
From 1982 to 1996, I served as a bridge superintendent for a
company out of Harrisburg,
handling projects anywhere from $10M - $30M. I affected every division
of the company from labor forces, managing from 10-40 men at a time, time
scheduling, payroll, human resources, surveying and layout, material ordering,
scheduling of subs, cost breakdowns and profit and loss analysis of the various
projects.
In 1996 I started Design & Build, LLC, “Designing
Your Dream and Building Around It.” In six years the company grew from
one employee to six employees and from $475,000 to $1.5M annually in
residential construction.
In 2004, I started Market Place Unlimited, a development
company which focuses on residential properties.
In 2006, Nittany Valley Business Consultants came to life as
a result of so many people approaching me for help in their various
businesses. NVBC exists to come
alongside entrepreneurs and help them reach the destiny for which they were
created.
